    • Thursday 19th June
    • Friday 20th June

We warmly invite parents and carers to attend and cheer on their student/s throughout the event. Your support makes a big difference and contributes to the fantastic school spirit that makes Dalby SS so special. Programs for both days have been sent via SchoolZine and Facebook. If you have not received an outline of the two day event as yet, please make contact with the school office. Tuckshop will be operating on Friday 20th June from the Tuckshop. There will be some changes to the ordering for food on Friday 20th June.

    • QKR will not be open or running on Friday,
    • There will be a modified menu on the day,
    • Students, staff, parents, families can order over the counter at the Tuckshop on the day,
    • No pre-ordering is required except for Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 will only be able to order their tuckshop at 1st Break only,
    • Year 3 to 6 can purchase their Tuckshop over the counter.

Ground has been broken and works has commenced on the installation of the new Yr 4, 5, 6 Playground. This will be located between the MPC and F Block Demountable, with the old Year 4-6 Playground becoming out of action. This will be a timely addition to our school with the installation being completed before the June/July Holiday Break. Pop in and check out the work as it gets completed. Our next stage will be the inclusion of a shade structure. This is a work in progress effort with our Student Council who have made the commitment to put their funds towards the installation of a shade structure.

Tenders will be going out for the demolition of 56 Drayton St or more commonly known as Knox Vets. As part of the works, the entire site will be demolished, ground levelled and grassed to become a part of the existing oval space. Works will also include the removal of all the trees with in and around the boundary of the Knox Vets perimeter. This will then allow for a bigger oval space. As part of the future works, we will also look at a master plan of the oval to accommodate the newly acquired oval space, the removal and re-location of the discuss pads/nets and long jump pits to maximise space and access to irrigation.

Returning in Term 3, there will be some staffing updates:

    • Ms Mona Anau will continue to be the A/Principal for Dalby State Hugh School. I will continue as the A/Principal for Dalby State School.
    • Mrs Penny De Waele will return as the Acting Head of Department – Curriculum. Mrs D has been on secondment during Term 2 with the Queensland College of Teachers Registration.
    • Mrs Mellisa Cover will return back to the classroom on 4B and work part-time with Mrs Naomi Clearly.
    • Mrs Rachelle Svenson returns from Maternity Leave for 1 Day per week as a school based Relief Teacher.

As we approach the final weeks of Term 2, our students will be finalising their assessments over the coming week. These assessments play an important role in tracking student progress. We strongly encourage all students to attend school every day to ensure they are well-prepared and supported during this time.

The Semester 1 Report Cards will be issued via email on Thursday 26th June. The Semester 1 Report Cards provide both students and their parents/guardians an overview of achievement and progress against the subjects that they have been taught and assessed, effort rating for each subject and an overall behaviour rating. The report card provides a progress of where the student is at with their learning. During early Term 3, Parent/Teacher Interviews will be offered to allow parents/guardians the opportunity to meet with their child’s teacher and review progress from Semester 1 but also to provide an overview for Semester 2. Further information about the Parent/Teacher Interviews will come out in early Term 3.

In 2025 there have been changes made to the requirements for academic reporting:

      • Connecting (HA / B)
